Seller Frequently Asked Questions

Tagging Clothing:

Attach tags on clothing using safety pins. Avoid using the small gold safety pins, as these do not stay on well and often come off items. Use punched hole on tag to pin. Place tags in areas where they are not going to get caught on other items. For example on the front of the shirt, as opposed to the sleeve. If you are selling sets, make sure the pieces are securely attached (cable ties through buttonholes, zipper tabs or clothing labels are great for this). As with all items, detailed tags increase the chances or reuniting the tag with the item if your tag becomes detached during the sale.

Tagging Toys:

Fasten tags on your items using clear tape or painters tape; do not cover the entire tag with tape. You can use the punched hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag securely to the toy. Zip ties are best, but you can also use ribbon or string. You should place small parts in a bag and securely attach it to the toy.

Ensure all battery-operated toys have working batteries installed.

Tagging Books:

Ensure painters’ tape is used to attach tags to books. Packing tape does not allow easy removal of the tag, and damages the book. Books may also be placed in a Ziploc bags and tags can be attached to the bag.

Tagging Shoes:

If shoes have laces, tie them together. Shoes can also be attached with string, ribbon or zip ties. Shoes can also be placed in a Ziploc bag. Tags can be attached to the shoes using pins, strings or zip ties.

Remember that we cannot sell any item without a tag. Detailed tags increase the chances or reuniting the tag with the item if your tag becomes detached during the sale. If you still have the box, tag them as indicated then you can lay them in the open matching box. Please make sure your pairs of shoes are a proper set!

Cloth Diapers:

Cloth diapers are a popular item at the sale. As the seller, please keep in mind that shoppers will want to see the condition of the diapers so package them accordingly, ensuring all parts are attached together.  Please note that if placed in a plastic bag, the bag will get opened and the diaper cover and liner will likely become separated. You may want to consider attaching the liner to the diaper with large safety pin. Also, clearly label the condition of the diapers on the tag. Examples would include: “Loose elastics”, “Light staining”, “Like new condition” / “Only used a few times”, and “Some pilling”.

Hangers:

You can often get hangers for free at various stores (Old Navy and Superstore often have no problem giving a bag of hangers. Calling ahead to request a bag of hangers is a good idea). When placing clothing on hangers the hanger should look like a question mark "?" and the tag should be placed on the upper right hand side of item.
